This button represents the anti-nuclear activism of the late-1970s that targeted the moral, environmental, social, and economic disparities emerging from the commercial use of nuclear power and the production of nuclear waste. In September 1979, musicians such as Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and Jackson Brown performed at Madison Square Garden in a series of concerts to protest the use of nuclear energy.
